Year 1 have been busy exploring the different parts of a plant and learning about the important job each part does. They discovered how roots help to take in water and nutrients, stems support the plant and transport the water and nutrients around the plant, leaves help the plant make food and flowers attract insects and produce seeds. The children had lots of fun getting creative and making their own plants using a variety of different objects and materials. Then they carefully labelled the different parts to show what they had learned. What a fantastic way to bring their learning to life!
