For Number Day in Reception the children dressed in their own clothes with a number on or number theme. Reception were learning about the life of St Bridget on her feast day. We learnt about the importance of the cross, which is represented on our school badge. The children then made their own version of the cross using peg boards and pegs. 
 

Reception had the opportunity to take part in wheelchair basketball with a coach. We learnt how to turn and go backwards and forwards and even crash into others! We then had a turn at trying to score the basketball into the net. It was enjoyed by all.

As well as learning how to keep our body healthy, Reception have also been learning how to keep their mind healthy. Year 3 had a fantastic time consolidating and learning about the Stone Age to the Iron Age. They had great fun taking part in axe making, copper art engraving, timeline construction, studying artefacts, Hunter gathering, making fire, examining poo and animal skulls.

Each term our children draw their own self portraits. We then display them on top of their old one in class to show how much progress they make each term. The children draw their features such as eyes, hair, ears and teeth. 
 

To celebrate our fabulous nativity play and winning the attendance for this term we had a Christmas party in Reception. We played some party games, such as musical chairs, bumps, statues and pass the parcel. We also danced and had some party treats. Merry Christmas!

Our fabulous Reception class gave their best performance of our nativity, Toby’s Christmas Drum. They sang and did all the actions and spoke very loud if they had a line. We are so proud of them!
