Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic morning with KidzFit. They learnt all about how our bodies work and the benefits of regular exercise. They learnt how to skip, hoopla-hoop and how to improve their co-ordination and balance. We finished off with some relaxing yoga. 
 

Year 6 had the most fantastic time at Sports Day. They helped to organise and score the whole morning and took part with enthusiasm and resilience. What a great morning! Congratulations to the Red team who were victorious. 

Y6 took advantage of the recent fine weather and moved their artistic talents out to the playground. They were tasked with creating a design which used only natural things found around the playground. Some very creative pieces were made!

Year 6 have been practising balances using push and pull motions with Mrs Mason during their weekly Gymnastics sessions. 

Y6 enjoyed a walk to Egremont library. They enjoyed browsing the books and choosing some to take home. 

Reception took part in ‘The Big Break-time’ raising money for the NSPCC. The children played games with Year 1 and Year 6 that were designed by the Year 6 children. They had a great afternoon playing games in the sun and raising money for a wonderful charity. 
 

Y6 have had a wonderful time celebrating our Queen’s special 70 years on the throne. They created a wonderful display of portraits and facts about her majesty. Then we joined with the rest of the school to enjoy a traditional street party with ice-cream, picnic and games and dancing on the yard.

Our Y6 Tag Rugby team were delighted to be asked to compete in a tournament at Egremont RUFC last week and won 3 games out of 4. A great show of teamwork and sportsmanship from them all! 

Y6 were joined by coaches of Egremont RUFC for a morning of Tag Rugby. They were taught passing skills, how to form a defensive line and practised scoring tries. A great morning in glorious sunshine which everyone really enjoyed.

Y6 enjoyed a day of books and fun on World Book Day this year. As well as dressing up in costumes from their favourite books they spent the afternoon sharing books with the children in Y1. 

Y6’s Design and Technology topic this term asked the question: How string is a piece of spaghetti? The children refined their engineering and design skills by experimenting with ways to make the strongest type of structures to hold a selection of weights. They discovered that strong bases and…
