Year 5 Residential Visit to Castlerigg Manor
Year 5 have had a wonderful time during their residential visit to Castlerigg Manor. Throughout the trip, the children took part in a range of workshops based on the theme “Let Your Light Shine.” These sessions encouraged the children to reflect on the importance of being the best version of themselves by following the shining example of Jesus.
Each day, the children attended chapel, where they enjoyed moments of quiet reflection and prayer. These special times gave everyone the opportunity to think about the messages they had explored during the workshops and to spend time together in a calm and peaceful environment.
Alongside the spiritual activities, the children also had lots of fun exploring the beautiful grounds of the manor. They enjoyed taking part in team-building games, which helped to develop confidence, communication and cooperation skills.
One of the highlights of the trip was a walk into Keswick and down to Derwent Water, where the children had great fun playing by the shore and skimming stones across the water.
The children have all shown excellent behaviour throughout the residential and represented the school beautifully. We hope they return home with many happy memories and experiences that they will treasure for years to come.
