Our classroom has been buzzing with excitement as we immersed ourselves in all things World Cup! Through a range of fun, interactive and cross-curricular activities, the children have explored football, geography, art, design and technology, computing, and presentation skills.
Each child took part in our World Cup sweepstake and proudly represented their chosen country. They researched their country's culture, discovered key facts, learned about their team's players, and located the World Cup stadiums on a world map.
The children designed and created colourful flags, produced eye-catching posters using Purple Mash, and let their creativity shine through a variety of artistic designs. They also completed an individual project, deciding how best to present their information to the class and developing their confidence as presenters.
To keep up with the tournament, we completed a World Cup chart, tracking results and discussing each stage of the competition. The classroom has been filled with music too, as we've enjoyed singing a selection of World Cup anthems—both classic and modern. A firm favourite has definitely been Football's Coming Home!
It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged, combining learning across the curriculum with teamwork, creativity and plenty of sporting enthusiasm. What a fantastic way to celebrate the excitement of the World Cup!
