We have started our new phase of learning in Maths.  We have enjoyed sharing out raisins and our role play food fairly.  We loved working out odds and evens by sharing cubes and other resources into two groups and seeing if there was one left over, which means it’s an odd number. Our problem…

Year 3 enjoyed practising their ball skills with Mr Green. They were passing, stopping and controlling the ball. 
 

Year 4 are really enjoying developing the skills needed for cricket. They particularly enjoyed using their news skills to gain points in the game. 
 

Year 3 have really enjoyed developing their cricket skills on Friday. 

Year 2 enjoyed their first cricket coaching session today. They worked on throwing, catching, hitting a ball and hitting wickets. They worked really hard to master these skills and cannot wait to see what they will be learning in their next session.

Y6 kicked off the final half-term of the summer term with their first athletics lesson with Mrs Mason. They learnt how to bounce lightly on their toes and place their arms in the correct position to optimise their best possible running style and technique. 

Year 4 are really enjoying learning how to play squash. Alongside developing racket and ball skills, they are learning the rules of the game and keeping fit and active. 
 

To complete our month of dedication to Mary Year 1 made their own rosaries.  We learnt how the rosary can be used to help people pray.  We learnt that 10 beads grouped together are called a decade.  We were amazed at how many prayers can be said using one.  It took a lot of concentration making…

The Nursery enjoyed a sports coach session in the hall. 
 

We had some pirate fun in Nursery to finish our topic of Pirates. We played games, did some pirate dancing, went on a treasure hunt for gold chocolate coins and had some party food. Arghhh me hearties! 
 

On Monday 24th of May, we all marked the National Day of Prayer by praying the Rosary during Mary’s special month of May. We learnt how to pray the Rosary and practiced the prayers whilst praying a decade to offer for those who need our prayers.

Year 4 are using Logo to learn how to use a text based coding language to control an onscreen turtle to create mathematical patterns. Today they have been learning the common instructions using the Logo programming language to create shapes.
