Year 3 have been busy thinking about who makes them happy and why. They have written letters to thank people who make them feel good. They watched a video about pupil voice, everyone matters and understood what makes them happy and why. 

Year 6 are now a fountain of information about the history of Whitehaven Harbour, from sea traders, pirates and smugglers to invaders and a very old pub that could well have saved Whitehaven from extinction.

Year 4 have taken part in some mindful activities and circle time as part of their PSHE lessons focused on their hopes and dreams for the future. This led onto discussions about being resilient, staying positive and having determination to succeed.

As part of their Design and Technology topic about structures, Year 6 experimented with spaghetti to test the strength of structures. By trial and error they found ways to make a sturdy structure that could withstand the weight of objects.

Year 3 really enjoyed playing football today. The rain did not stop them. They were dribbling trough obstacles in teams. Practicing their ball control and using their skills.

Y5 had a fantastic afternoon at Forest School this week in the frosty weather. They made a fire then melted marshmallows to make s’mores which they all thought were delicious. After playing games in the forest they all enjoyed chilling out in the hammocks.

Year 5 Reading Champions visited the Book Bus today to choose a selection of books for our class. They enjoyed choosing fiction and non- fiction books. They brought them back to class where we all enjoyed having a look at them. 
 

Year 2 had a wonderful time browsing through all the books on offer on the library and today. They choose a good selection of fiction, non- fiction and poetry. They couldn’t wait to take them back to class and read them.
